Financial & Insurance

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. You must pay your estimated patient portion at the time of service.

Our office accepts payments by cash, checks, and credit cards. If you have any questions about cost, we will thoroughly explain your choices and work hard to accommodate your needs.

If your insurance covers treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Once treatment has started, we will file your claims. Please remember that insurance is a benefit for you or your family members. The financially responsible party is accountable for all charges insurance does not cover.

Please contact us our office at 641-673-3008 to schedule an appointment or an examination.

Your First Visit

When you arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms that will allow us to begin your dental treatment, or you may print and complete these forms before your first visit.

Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request 24-hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. However, we know that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Why Maintain Oral Hygiene?

Brushing & Flossing

Healthy brushing and flossing habits are the core way to maintain your oral hygiene. When brushing your teeth, move the brush in small circular motions to reach food particles that may be under your gum line. We recommend brushing three times daily to avoid the accumulation of food particles and plaque. Floss is used for removing food particles and plaque. Guide the floss between all teeth to the gum line, pulling out any food particles or plaque.

Tooth Decay Prevention

Tooth decay is a progressive disease that can naturally occur from sugars in the everyday diet. We can remove the decay and fill the tooth using various fillings, restoring the tooth to a healthy state. However, nerve damage can result from severe decay and may require a crown. Avoiding decay requires strict adherence to a dental hygiene regimen: brushing and flossing twice a day, regular dental checkups, diet control, and fluoride treatment.

Sealants

As bacteria react with the food, acids form and break down the tooth enamel, causing cavities. Tooth sealants protect these susceptible areas by sealing the grooves and depressions, preventing bacteria and food particles from residing in these areas. Sealant material is typically applied to the back teeth, molars, and premolars, and areas prone to cavities. It lasts for several years but needs to be checked during regular appointments.

Fluoride

Keep your teeth stronger and more durable with fluoride treatments. Fluoride can help teeth resist decay better. If you drink fluoride-treated water and brush and floss daily, we ensure you will experience fewer cavities and other oral issues. We can evaluate fluoride levels in your primary drinking sources and recommend appropriate supplements, either tablets or drops if needed.

Gum Disease

Gum disease, or periodontal disease, can cause inflammation, tooth loss, or bone damage. Gingivitis can cause the gums to bleed easily and become swollen. As the disease progresses to periodontitis, teeth may fall out or need to be removed. It is highly preventable and can be avoided by daily brushing and flossing. One indicator of gum disease is consistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth.

Bad Breath

Avoid bad breath by maintaining daily oral hygiene routines, such as brushing and flossing. By preventing food buildup, particles, plaque, and bacteria, you can avoid bad breath. While certain foods, such as garlic or anchovies, may create temporary bad breath, consistent bad breath may be a sign of gum disease or another dental problem. Have one of our dentists check your mouth.
